Hot-dip galvanizing is a form of galvanization. It is the process of coating steel with a thin zinc layer, by passing the metal through a molten bath of zinc at a temperature of around 860 °F (460 °C). When exposed to the atmosphere, the pure zinc (Zn) reacts with oxygen to form zinc oxide, which further reacts with carbon dioxide to form zinc carbonate, a usually dull grey, fairly strong material that stops further corrosion in many circumstances, protecting the steel below from the elements. Galvanized steel is widely used in applications where rust resistance is needed, and can be identified by the crystallization patterning on the surface (often called a "spangle").
Superior Bolt uses a band saw to prepare the raw material for the heading operation and to cut down bolt blanks for the threading operation.

Superior Bolt uses both cut threading and roll threading to form threads depending on the application and customers specification. Cut threading is a process by which steel is cut away, or physically removed, from a round bar of steel to form the threads. All our stock bolt blanks are cut thread to our customer’s specification.Roll threading is an extrusion process in which steel round bar is forced between two dies to form the threaded portion of a fastener, instead of being removed as in cut threading. In this process, a bolt is manufactured from a reduced diameter round bar.

Fine thread bolts will have thread protectors to insure that the arrive in Superior condition. We will ship your parts using the carrier or your choice. We have special freight rates with our carriers and are happy to pass the savings on to you.
Superior bolt can bend round bar up to 2 1/2" in diameter. 90 degree bending is used primarily in fabricating bent bolts and anchor bolts.
Our machining department can custom manufacture most any parts to very tight tolerances.
Superior Bolt can drill any size hole through any access. These types of holes are often used in conjunction with a cotter pin and castellated nut.
